One of the most interesting topic that we usually discuss among my group of friends is, THE LGBT RIGHTS. tadaaaa.. Yeah.. It always has been our favorite topic to be discussed, because we all have our own point of views which doens't sync with one another.
Most of my friends say that being homosexual is a sin and bisexuality is the mother of all the sins on earth ( sounds funny right?) which I do not agree with, not even a single percent. I don't blame them for having such a thought because, We(Asians) were brought up that way.
When I question them on why we shouldn't support LGBT rights, their only answer would be ITS AGAINST THE NATURE! Who will be producing kids if everyone become homosexual. We should set a good example for the upcoming generation and we are responsible of teaching them that LGBT is something wrong! Trust me. The people who uttered these words are ones who said they will not be having kids in future because they consider having kids are troublesome, and supports sex before marriage. Well, I'm not saying that sex before marriage is something wrong, but we were supposed to set a good example for our kids and upcoming generation, right?
Most of the time I prefer keep myself in "shut down" mode because I'm too lazy to argue. The only question that comes up to my mind whenever people say "Owh that's wrong! and this is right", is who are we to decide what is wrong and what is right? God didn't give us any kind of manual on what is wrong and what is right before sending us to earth, or did he? I do understand the concept of setting rules and moral values in order to produce an holistic human being, but "molding" people in the way that we want is aint no right! The only person that has the rights to mold us, the human, is the Almighty himself.
So, back to our topic, do I support LGBT rights? and what is my opinion about LGBT rights? Well, the only opinion that I have about this particular topic is, there will be no confusion or arguments on LGBT rights if people understand that love do not know the difference of men and women, or race or nationality of an individual. Then what is the point of saying "eh, you are a guy, and you are not suppose to like a guy, or you're a girl and you are not suppose to like a girl ".
So, in conclusion, I would like to request and beg all those people out there, who are still condemning the odd ones. Just because they are different from us, it is not right to isolate them from the society. C'mon! they are also human being! God created us equal and I'm pretty sure that He would definitely not be happy to see Us condemning, isolating or hurting another human being.
And.. Just because I'm supporting LGBT rights, that doesn't mean I'm a gay/Lesbian/Transgender. After all, I don't have to be a tree in order to stop people from destroying the environment, right?
:)
